For the past 11 years, members of Sandia Presbyterian Church and the community have brought their personnel Nativity sets to the church to be part of a display that included over 600 sets in 2014. The sets have ranged from small (the size of a thimble) to life-size. Some are very expensive (Hummel, Lladro, and Fontanini). One is a paper pop-up nativity, crafted by an 8-year-old many years ago, that is considered priceless by her parents. Another set features rocks picked up from the backyard. Some are of local origin (Native American and handcrafted by other New Mexicans), and many have been collected from around the world. Add in the quilts, blankets, and tree ornaments, and one can begin to appreciate the incredible variety of the display. The display is free and will be open from 11:00am to 8:00pm on Saturday, Dec. 5, and from 8:00am to noon on Sunday, Dec. 6.
